Why Sound Healing Matters — And Why It’s Being Talked About

Recently, I was interviewed by A Lotus in the Mud about my work with sound healing and the space I created, Akouie, a space that holds you, that lets you step away from the static of everyday life and into a sanctuary of love, rememberance and sacred alchemy.
I needed this for my own healing. NY is not the Sacred Vally - I live in a region that moves very fast. I slow down and even still, the pace and energy of the collective mostly feels chaotic. People are overstimulated, stressed, and often disconnected from their own bodies. Most of us don’t actually stop long enough to feel what’s happening inside us.
Sound healing helps people pause.
When you experience sound meditation, your body responds to the vibration. Just like you can feel bass in your chest at a concert, your nervous system also responds to tone, rhythm, and frequency. The body begins to settle. Breathing slows. Muscles soften. Thoughts become clearer.
This isn’t magic. It’s biology.
In the interview, I explain the meaning behind the word Akouie, which comes from the Greek word meaning “to listen.” That’s the foundation of my work. Healing begins with listening — to your body, your breath, your emotions, and your internal rhythm.
Most people try to fix themselves. Very few people actually listen.
Sound gives the body a reference point. It helps reorganize scattered energy and restore a sense of internal steadiness. When that happens, people often feel clearer, calmer, and more grounded.
That’s what I teach.
Not escape. Coherence.
The article also highlights how I bring this work into community spaces like libraries and non- profit settings. That’s important to me. Healing shouldn’t be exclusive or mysterious. It should be accessible and relatable.
Sound is one of the oldest tools humans have used to regulate themselves — long before modern wellness trends. We are wired for rhythm. We are wired for vibration.
When used intentionally, sound becomes a way to reset.

And if this resonates with you, you can explore a private session or join an upcoming sound meditation. The experience is simple, but the effects are powerful.
Because when you learn to listen, your body remembers how to return to balance.
